The world is changing
rapidly as we move
through the 21st Century. So
are the possibilities of a great and entertaining landscape
at your home. We all live 52 weeks a year. It is
now possible to turn your backyard into a vacation
destination where you can relax and entertain guests year
round.
The 1960's backyard
was a grass lawn with possibly a swing-set or above-ground
swimming pool. Today's backyard can feature a large
stone or paver patio for entertaining. A pond and
waterfall adds peaceful running water featuring an
enchanting water garden with beautiful Koi and goldfish.
An outdoor fireplace and barbeque pit changes your backyard
into "Lunai" or outdoor living room. Children's play
sets, arbors with swings, pathways leading to garden rooms,
stone walls and walkways, along with today's rapidly growing
supply of flowers, trees and shrubs create a resort
atmosphere that you can enjoy year-round.
Outdoor lighting
allows you to enjoy your yard in the evening.
Up-lights, moon-lights, pathway lights, and fiber-optic
lighting creates the perfect evening atmosphere for a
romantic evening.
Your front yard
landscape should maximize the curb appeal and value of your
home. The center piece of your front yard landscape is
a beautiful lawn framed with gorgeous shrubs, small trees
and flowers. An attractive fountain or garden statue
may complete the picture. Your eye should be drawn to
the front entryway with seasonal color and a landscape that
beautifies today's attractive architecture, not hides it.
The 1960's front lawn
went from the driveway to the property line. A tree
was planted in the center of the lawn and a row of shrubs
was planted in front of the house. Today's yard has a
sculpted lawn with curved lines. The lawn is typically
in the center of the yard and is framed by small trees and
shrubs, annuals and perennials which frame the house and
create a landscape showcase. Extremely large trees and
shrubs often grow too large and dominate the landscape,
hiding the house while shading the lawn and killing your
grass. The well designed landscape is as beautiful
today as when it reaches maturity.
Outdoor lighting adds
beauty and security to the front of your home. The
care of your yard is greatly simplified with an automatic
lawn sprinkler system and a small lawn area to cut.
The well designed landscape puts plants in their proper sun
and soil conditions where they can prosper. The
avoidance of large trees in your front yard will eliminate
increasing shade which chokes the life out of your sun
loving plants and grass, creating the need to re-landscape
your home.
