Why Us

Artistic Landscapes is a full-service landscape contractor in Atlanta, Georgia.
Artistic Landscapes won the Best of Houzz award for 2014. We are a Consumers Choice Award winner; we have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau; and we have won numerous awards from MALTA, now the Georgia Urban Ag Council. Our focus is to be the best, not the biggest. We design, install and maintain landscapes in the North Metro Atlanta area.

Our Vision

To be the best design and installation landscape company, creating landscapes that inspire others and redefine what a residential landscape should be.

Our Mission

To make our clients properties more beautiful and valuable, while inspiring their neighbors to do the same.

Our Core Values

We do all our projects within the highest quality possible.  We do not cut corners to cut costs.  The quality of a project will long be remembered.  Whether or not the job was the cheapest quote will soon be forgotten, but the bitterness of a poorly done job will last a long time.  We are here for those who want the best.

We educate our people to follow the policies and procedures we have developed to do the highest quality work.  Our work sets examples for homeowners and contractors alike to follow.  Our photos have been downloaded to Houzz idea books more than 10,000 times.  Our E-book discusses the right way to do things and the many mistakes made by others in the Atlanta Market.

Being the best requires garnering knowledge from many of the industry leaders and going beyond that as well.  Our industry would be better served if more people would take advantage of the educational opportunities available through organizations such as Planet and the Georgia Urban Ag Council. Field trips to the world’s best nurseries, classes provided by companies such as John Deere Landscapes and Belgard, trade shows, books and websites make us better at what we do.  At the GIE expo in Louisville, Kentucky, Mark has met with some of the top landscape companies from all over the United States to as far away as Australia and learned as much as possible from them.

Our Story

Mark Keightley Owner of Artistic Landscapes, Atlanta Landscaping Company
Mark Keightley
Artistic Landscapes is owned by Mark Keightley. Mark graduated from the University of Illinois. After working in the corporate world for 10 years, Mark moved to Atlanta in 1989. He founded Stanford Development and built 150 houses in the Atlanta area from 1989 to 1994.

This construction background provided excellent experience in constructing hardscapes and understanding local building codes.
Mark started Artistic Landscapes in 1994 where we have been successfully landscaping for 20 years. Because Mark is a big believer in continuing education and actively participating in landscape-related professional organizations, we are a member of the Georgia Urban Ag Council and Planet.

We travel the country and scour the internet looking for ways to improve our company. We travel to the West Coast to see the latest in new plants and trees. We visit well known gardens, such as the Portland Japanese Garden and The international Rose Test Garden in Portland, Oregon, Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, and many more. We attend landscape expositions, such as the Green Industry Exposition and Hardscape Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. We take classes from industry educators such as Tony Bass, Jeffery Scott, Ken Thomas, Charles Vander Koi, John Deere Landscapes University and more. We read books by Michael Dirr, JD Virtrees, Chet Holmes, Michael E. Gerber, Brian Tracey, Mike Michalowicz, Tony Robbins and more.

We love and study Japanese Maples, Japanese Gardens, Koi ponds and water gardens. We hope our vast array of landscape projects completed and pictured on this site demonstrate our vision and abilities. Each year we have new exciting projects to add. Some projects take a few years to mature to show their true beauty. Our Featured Projects Section reflects amazing before and after transformations.

Quality Landscapes Over Quantity

Our focus is on providing top quality landscapes to good clients, many of whom we now call our friends. We are not trying to landscape all of Atlanta, and we prefer quality to being the biggest landscaper. We sometimes will turn down a project during our busy seasons to avoid over extending our resources. This policy has been developed from experience.

When dealing with our company you will get the owner as the supervisor of your project. With a larger company, your supervisor is likely to have less education and experience than Mark provides. We hope the photos of our work speak for themselves. All the photos on this site are of projects completed by Artistic Landscapes.
